"Throughout the years, I’ve had many people ask, 'How did you come up with ACA, Art Comes Alive? No one in the industry does anything like it!'

Well, the idea came to me in 2009 (fifteen years ago) while I was sitting at a banquet hall during an award ceremony for local businesses. For those of you who have met me or follow what I do, know that I’ve built my business these past thirty years on connections and networking. So, that day, as I sat back while eating rubber chicken (they all served it. Ugh!), I watched many local businesses getting awards for varies reasons. and thought, why aren’t artists acknowledged in a big way too? At that very second, I told myself that I was going to honor artists, celebrate their talent and give them what they want and need the most – gallery representation, sales and connections in the industry!

That year we put together a team of art experts to be jurors, found art collectors to commit to purchasing art and brought together galleries we could connect artists with. The first year we gave $90,000 in awards and now, fifteen years later are giving nearly half a million dollars in awards to artists.I just added up what we’ve done for artists in ACA for all these years, and it totals nearly $5 million in valuable awards!

It's truly incredible and I’m very grateful and proud of what we have done to make this the best and most successful competition in the nation. Many of the artists that connect with us through ACA have moved forward to be part of our family too and we’ve had an opportunity to show and sell their work – even after the exhibition. It’s a win- win for all of us!

So, whether you’re a painter, a photographer, create pieces in glass, clay, mixed media or any other medium, I urge you to enter this year. It’s going to be AMAZING celebration. The jurors and I can’t wait to see your work!"
