Art with a View
A CEO reimagines her new home with color and meaning.
It’s not often that you fall in love immediately, but when CEO Kateri Haskett walked into her home in Mt. Adams for the first time, all she could say was “Wow, I want to live here!” The space had soaring views, a contemporary layout and she could picture herself sitting out on the deck after a long day of work with a glass of wine enjoying mesmerizing city views.
After she moved in, it was time to make it her own. “I would always go to ADC’s openings to meet artists and see what was new, but I never had the space for original art before. My new home was ideal for art, and I wanted it to reflect my personality.” Her first purchase was a large-scale modern portrait of the Stones’ legendary guitar player, Keith Richards, painted by the talented Jack Magurany. “I fell in love with this painting right away. It has pure attitude, and I loved the size and brilliant colors.” The next piece, which is her favorite, is called The Dancer. As she spent years as a ballerina, Nick Stamas’ piece allows Kateri to reminisce on her past.
“Litsa, the owner of ADC, Art Design Consultants is a dear friend of mine and I love spending time with her at ADC’s openings. There’s always something new, unusual, and unexpected that she wants me to see. I’ll never forget the day she called me and said, ‘I really have something special to show you!’ It turned out to be a portrait of a young woman who looked like me. It was unexpected and meant so much to me. It’s currently hanging in the foyer and is perfect!"
“My art collection has truly made a difference in my life. I enjoy the city view and being surrounded by beautiful things that I love.”
