There's nothing that could make us happier than hearing this from our clients! Our gallery is filled with art that we love, created by artists that we know personally. So when we go into a client's home or office to bring them pieces that we think will match their vision, it's rewarding to know that we nailed it – and, for Chris and Tom, we're pretty sure that we did just that!
After we completed the installation of the artwork, I chatted with Chris and Tom to hear how they thought the selection process went and how the results have changed their home.
Litsa Spanos, ADC : Why did you call me to help you on this project?
Chris and Tom: We have both been working from home and by being here all day – every day, we realized we needed to “freshen up” our home and replace old with new. We needed energy around us.
Litsa: Tell me about your favorite part of the process of selecting artwork.
Chris: I decided to come to the gallery first to take a look. From there, I took photos of the pieces I liked, sent them to Tom and then asked Litsa to bring them over. From there, we scheduled a time for her to bring everything over.
Tom: The great thing about having her do this is that she was able to see our home and give us advice on other areas as well.
Chris: After installing the first round of pieces, she was able to come back again and bring even more for areas that we didn’t even think about originally. It was a fun and collaborative process with Litsa, Tom and myself.
Chris: One area in particular that we really needed something special was our bedroom. It never really felt “finished.” Although no one goes in there but us, it was our escape and we wanted the art to be personal for us.
Chris and Tom: One thing that was a surprise was the color orange. Our home has a lot of purples and greys, but we realized that orange brought some fun into the space and we love it!

Tom: When I walk into my home office now, I especially love the Marilyn Monroe painting. I love her life and the mystery around her. I also love the scene of Paris behind me. It makes for much more interesting zoom calls!
Chris: My favorite painting is the one in the kitchen by the dining room table. The house and walls are neutral and this painting really pops. It brings the space to life.

Art Comes Alive Exhibition & the BLINK Art Resource
When we find art for a client we usually turn to our BLINK Art Resource book. BLINK Art Resource is a publication put out each year by ADC Fine Art containing the best of what's new and what's next in the art world. It's our go-to source for every project.
But this project was a little different. When we began looking for art, our annual international art competition - ART COMES ALIVE - had just opened it's exhibition. The timing was perfect and we were able to bring Chris and Tom to our gallery and show them the competition's artwork in person. The impact was immediate, and from that showing, we found the foundational pieces that now make up their collection.
The ability to provide a client with such personal and unique pieces makes us so happy - and installation day is always so exciting. But being able to connect these artists – whether from the ACA competition or our BLINK Art Resource – with new audiences is rewarding and keeps us focused on our mission!
