New Year, New Artwork

Posted on 10 January 2013

If you’re anything like me, you’re still trying to grasp the fact that it is actually 2013! There is something so beautiful about a new year and fresh start. Beginnings are so a romantic…who knows what this year will hold for each of us. I sincerely hope it’s a year of blessings, achieving your goals, learning new things, and becoming the best version of yourself thus far! To celebrate the New Year, I wanted to share with you some of ADC’s newest artwork; a little color and energy to warm up these next few chilly, and often gloomy, months. Tom Towhey, ACA 2012’s Lifetime Achievement Award Winner, has brought us several new paintings that are—in true Towhey fashion—playful and whimsical to say the least. Whether you are trying to bring a room filled with several vibrant colors together for a cohesive look, or you want a relatively neutral room to have a statement piece that truly “pops;” Tom Towhey’s pieces can get it accomplished! The ever so lovely and talented Leslie Dyas is still relatively new to ADC. Winner of the ADC Gallery Contract Award at ACA 2012, we are so thrilled to represent her and her beautiful artworks. Leslie is a master at creating soft, feminine and romantic paintings.

I personally love Leslie's works in a space with masculine touches, creating a wonderful juxtaposition...and ultimately balance. Above, you'll see her piece stand out on a stone wall. Below, her artwork unifies the softness of the fabrics, and the rigidness of the wood accents and metal chairs.

Our last featured artist, Paula Wiggins, was also an ACA Award Winner for both Mixed Media Artist of the Year as well as the Art Expo Studio Membership Award. Paula's works are contemporary, expressive and layered abstracts.

Her style is wonderfully poetic. Her visionary mixed media collages include lots of stylistic flair and design! But, you also encounter bits of color, newspaper, budding flowers, and last but not least, eccentricity.

ADC is ringing in the new year by enjoying all these fabulous new works of art that continue to come through our doors. We are setting our goals high this year, and we ask you to stay tuned for some of the fantastic things we have in store for 2013...including a brand new website with all the bells and whistles!

Until next week...
