I Love My Bed

Posted on 22 March 2013

It's true. I do. But then again, who doesn't? Especially when a cold front comes blowing through the city disguised as Spring, all I want to do is crawl under the covers and de-thaw. And although the sun has finally arrived, each day this week I have been harshly jolted awake by the chill in the air. Ever have those mornings where you would just rather stay in bed? Our bedrooms are our havens; the comfy, warm, room of rest and relaxation where we go at the end of each day to shed the stresses of a busy life. I believe the atmosphere in this room can have more influence than any other. It is important we feel at peace here. The bedroom is intimate and personal, and this is why I believe it should showcase your favorite work of art. Not the work of art you think company will like, or you the work of art you think will tie together the rug and the throw pillows, but the piece you love. The piece you can't live without. Sometimes we can't explain why a work of art speaks so loudly to us-- but go with your gut! The bedroom is your sacred space, so design it for you...and nobody else. If you love your bed as much as I do, be sure to let it know. Adorn it with some colorful, calming, or even textural work of art that will keep it company while you're away all day. And when you get home, your beautiful, harmonious bedroom will be there to greet you, helping you relax and unwind. Although, (disclaimer) you may find yourself hitting the snooze button more frequently then before and Saturday mornings may require breakfast in bed. Don't say we didn't warn you.
