Contemporary Condo Gets Some Color
I’ve worked in Cincinnati for over 25 years now and have seen it go through its ups and downs. Undoubtedly Cincinnati is seeing a resurgence in downtown – and I couldn’t be more excited to see our city thriving!
From the trending new restaurants, bars crafting up one-of-a-kind cocktails, world-class arts programs like the Symphony to FC Cincinnati achieving MLS status and breaking ground on their new stadium in the West End, we’re making our mark not only as a great place to live but also as an attractive destination for foodies, arts lovers, adventurers, and craft-brew appreciators to visit. We even made it into the top 10 of Money’s “The 20 best places to go in 2019” and rightly so!
It’s no wonder there has been a renewed interested in downtown living. Many suburbanites are swapping their keys for sweeping views of the city and want a complete décor overhaul to match their adjusted lifestyle. With their last child out of the house and off to college, this is exactly what Dan and Lisa decided to do!
What They Needed
Dan and Lisa took this opportunity to completely re-invigorate not only their lifestyle but also their décor. They started completely from scratch. They upgraded from their large traditional suburban home to a trendy, contemporary condo in Mt. Adams.
It may seem surprising to some, but they wanted to simplify their life and create a space that catered more to downtown living and entertaining. And club-footed Chippendale furniture just wasn’t going to cut it.
Their new condo has strong clean modern lines and they needed strong artwork to match the décor that boasted strong pops of color.
How We Did It
The first piece of artwork we christened their new condo with was a gorgeous custom copper artwork by Ken Rausch. We worked with the clients to create a specially commissioned work to highlight the wonderful blues and bright yellow in their new modern décor.
Just around the time Dan and Lisa were ready for more artwork, we had just launched our call to artists for our annual, juried fine-art competition and exhibit Art Comes Alive. This art show is so special because it was created to celebrate and award artists from all over the country and working in a variety of mediums. After hearing about the opportunity, Dan and Lisa jumped at the chance to be purchase award partners for Art Comes Alive (ACA).
“The unique thing about working with Art Design Consultants versus a gallery is Litsa’s access to an unbelievable variety of artwork. As ACA partners we had over 180 works of art from different artists to choose from. While it may seem overwhelming, it wasn’t. Litsa’s expert hand was there to guide us to the perfect pieces.” - Lisa
