Supporting your local community is a consistently growing trend, from getting involved in the community to shopping locally—there is a wide range of ways to show your city some love. An easy and fantastic way to show support is to take pride in your city’s beauty and accomplishments. I have found that one simple—and stylish—way of doing this is by displaying photographs of your favorite parts of the city. Be proud of your community and showcase artwork unique to you, your family, and the city you call home! Look for dynamic and well composed photographs of your favorite places to go and the must-see sights and sounds of the Queen City! This not only expresses your love for the place you live, it also supports local artists, artists who have a shared passion for Cincinnati. My favorite part of Cincinnati is the vastly different landscapes. In the heart of downtown we have the urban and enticing skyline, buildings old and new working together to bring character and history to our streets. However, only a few miles down the road you can find the river, autumn leaves burning with reds, oranges and yellows, and quaint shops, parks, and fountains. Whether you consider yourself “big city” or “small town,” Cincinnati truly has it all! The city artwork you choose can easily reflect what is most YOU! The wonderful thing about photography is that when you are choosing art for a specific space you have choices! If you have a colorful space, you can balance it with a striking black and white photograph. If you want to bring color to your walls, find a photograph that matches or compliments the colors in your décor. When choosing artwork we often want the art to fit the “feel” of our room. Whether it is airy and romantic, or a little fun and whimsical, photographs offer a range of styles and subject matters. From aerial views to close ups, photography allows you to get specific about what you want to showcase. *Fun Fact! Photographs can be brushed with a clear gel medium to make them look like a painting! [caption id="attachment_1057" align="aligncenter" width="500" caption="Artwork by Robert Flischel"][/caption]

What are your favorite places in Cincinnati? Is it the park where you take your kids in the summer, or where you and your spouse had your first date? By choosing artwork for your home that is personal, it doesn’t only create a great look, but a meaningful one! Not to mention, it makes the ideal conversation piece when you have friends and family over!
