Capture Summer

Posted on 22 August 2013

It's that sad part of the year when the summer season begins to wind down and slip into early fall. Kids are heading back to school, evenings allow for open windows rather than AC, and suntans are beginning to fade.   [caption id="attachment_5874" align="aligncenter" width="466"]Ocean View II in Office Click image to see more of Lisa Schafer's artwork[/caption]

Don’t you wish there was a way to capture and keep that wonderful, intoxicating & joyful feeling of summertime? Believe it or not, the essence of the season can be contained in a work of art that brings forth the same happiness and peacefulness.

Water and light are popular sources of inspiration for artists, and rightfully so. So many beautiful emotions can be tied to these two thing. The sunlight in the morning and during the day, is different than sunlight in the evening. Water, too, can be bright greens or blues...or depending on the weather and time of day, it can instead look deep and mysterious with turquoise and plum.

Summer has a certain energy and cheerfulness, but it also has a warmth and relaxation. To keep the warmth of the season lingering long after back to school time, choose a work of art that captures your favorite things about summertime. It will help you escape...even with cooler days to come.
