A Touch of Gold

Posted on 30 October 2012

Although fall may bring with it a chill in the air, you can’t help but notice the color of the sun become a deeper, richer gold compared to the sunshine of summer. This is one of my favorite things about the season—the beautiful golds in the leaves & light that help ease us into winter. And as temperatures get cooler, adding warmth to our space seems more crucial for achieving comfort. Adding Warmth

Nothing adds warmth like a touch of gold. The color & shimmer is reminiscent of a fire or candle flame. It creates visual “glow” that surprisingly enough can actually make us feel calmer, cozier, and yes—warmer! Golds create the illusion of light…even when skies are grey.

Puttin’ on the Glitz

When your first think of “gold’ your mind often goes to the precious metal that ladies decorate their ears & wrists with. Like the glimmer and glitz of a beautiful piece of jewelry around a woman’s neck, some works of art are meant to sparkle! Her textural paintings shimmer and gleam, adding sophistication and drama to any room. Her high gloss works of art catch the light and twinkle like stars at twilight. Her use of bright and fun colors make her pieces “pop” and add a bit of fun to your space! The Golden Rule

Warm colors are inviting, and encourage visitors to relax & stay awhile. If you have a space that feels a little cold and like it’s missing an element of coziness & comfort, then turn up the heat with the right piece of artwork! Nothing adds ambiance to a room more quickly than the colors of the fall sun or winter’s firelight. Warm up your space before the cold settles in for its long stay with a work of art that glistens with gold!
